
Lightning defeat the Mammoth 2-0

The Tampa Bay Lightning returned to their winning ways with another impressive win Monday night against the Utah Mammoth. The Lightning were a much better team tonight in front of Andrei Vasilevskiy. The Lightning now improve their record to 33-14-4 placing them back in 1st place of the Atlantic Division.
The Lightning won the game in all the categories from a statistical standpoint in shots 29-28. Andrei Vasilevskiy would add his 2nd shutout of the season stopping all 28 shots faced tonight. It is quite disappointing that Vasilevskiy would have more more of these if he didn’t concede goals late in games. It is no doubt that the Lightning are a much better hockey team when Vasilevskiy is in net for them.

The Lightning would open this game on a beautiful shot from Darren Raddysh late in the 2nd period of this game for the Lightning . This is now 14 goals on the season for a guy who’s in a contract year. Nikita Kucherov now extends his point streak to 6 games on the Raddysh goal to open the scoring, Jake Guentzel would pick up the other assist on the goal. The Lightning carried a 1-0 lead heading into the 3rd period of tonight’s game.
The Lightning entered the 3rd period of this game with a 1-0 lead, but would another goal late in the period to secure the win. Anthony Cirelli would the dagger on the power play for the Lightning. Cirelli would pick up his 15th goal of the season assisted by Nikita Kucherov and JJ Moser. The Lightning would win this game 2-0 against the Mammoth.
